Ben Browder (Farscape)

Robert Benedict Browder was born on 11 December 1962 in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, earned a BS in psychology at Furman University, and then went on to study drama at Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England, where he met his wife, Francesca. Ben is the father of two children, about whom he is very protective (as such, he will not release their names and ages). After several appearances on stage, including traditional Shakespeare, Ben garnered a few minor appearances in feature films, including a small part as a rookie captain in Memphis Belle (1990) and the role of a short-lived boyfriend in A Kiss Before Dying. He was first widely exposed to the American and Canadian television viewing audience as the recurring character of Sam on the series Party of Five. In 1999, Jim Henson productions teamed with the Sci-Fi channel to produce “Farscape”, where Ben was cast to play the main character, American astronaut John Crichton. After 4 Seasons, the show ended, and Ben went on to star in SG-1.

Ben, it’s good to see you on the big screen, I just saw The Gaurdians of the Galaxy volume 2! I’m still hopeful that you may reprise your role with Farscape!

  • Rodney Tindall says:

Big SiFi fan. Enjoyed you on Stargate and Farscape. Waited for years on new episodes of X-Files and got at least one new season. So haven’t given up hope on renewal of your role on Farscape! Like X-Files, Farscape was a lot more original than most of what is out there now!
